01Who we are

AMZ United Press (“we”, “us”) is an independent ebook writing, editing, design and publishing studio. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

02What we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you and do the work:

• Enquiry details: your name, email address, what you need help with, and anything you tell us about your project.
• Project materials: manuscripts, notes, images and files you send us if you become a client.
• Messages: our emails, chats and calls about your project.
• Billing details: the name and address on invoices. Card numbers are handled by the payment provider, never stored by us.
• Basic technical data: if you email us or use our forms, the usual technical details such as your IP address may be recorded by our email and hosting providers.

03How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, prepare your written quote, deliver and invoice the work, keep records we are required to keep, and improve our service. We do not sell your information and we do not use your manuscript to train any public product.

04Why we are allowed to

Where privacy law requires a legal reason, we rely on: contract (to give you a quote and deliver the work), legitimate interests (to run and improve a small business, without overriding your rights), legal obligation (tax and accounting records) and consent (for example, if you ask to hear from us about future services). You can withdraw consent at any time.

05Who we share it with

Only with people who need it to help you: the editors, writers and designers on your project, and service providers such as email, file storage, invoicing and payment services. These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it. Manuscripts are never shared outside your project team without your permission.

06Transfers abroad

Our team and providers may be located in different countries. When your information is sent outside your own country, we take reasonable steps, such as using recognised contractual safeguards, so that it stays protected.

07How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to 12 months. Project files are kept for up to 24 months after delivery, then deleted. Invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your files sooner.

08Cookies and tracking

This website does not currently set advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics or similar tools in future, we will say so here and, where required, ask for your consent first.

09Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, such as access controls and trusted providers, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending anything sensitive that is not needed for your book.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and complain to your local data-protection authority. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within a reasonable time, normally within one month.

11Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, please tell us and we will delete it.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on this page.
